Rin X Reader X Sousuke Chapter 4

When did my life become a shojo manga?
Chapter 4: Ye-Ye-Yes?!?!

When Haru and you arrived back at the hotel, Rin, Sousuke, and the rest of the swim team were gathered in the hotel lobby. You tilted your head to the side in confusion on why they were gathered there. They should have all been in their rooms resting after a long day of practice. “I understand you guys are tired from swim practice. However, we need to find her,” Sousuke said to the exhausted looking swim team. “The first one to find (Name) will receive the day off tomorrow,” Rin added on hoping to give the team a little more encouragement.

“Rin, Sousuke, Rin, Sousuke,” Momo said as he jumped up and down waving his hand in the air to get their attention as he stood near the back of the group with Nitori. Both boys let out a sigh before Rin spoke up. “What is it Momotaru?” he said not really in the mood for his over energetic personality. “(Name) is standing with Haru over there. Since I found her does that mean I don’t have practice tomorrow?” Momotaru said as he pointed towards the entrance where you and Haru were. Rin and Sousuke both ignored Momotaru’s question as they hurried over to you. The rest of the swim team let out a small cheer before they started to disappear down the hallway to their rooms.

“Where have you been (Name)? We told you to wait at the hotel until we came back,” Rin said in a worry tone as he wrapped his arms around her. “If you wanted to go somewhere, we would have taken you when you came back,” Sousuke said before hugging you once Rin was done. “Thanks for bringing (Name) back here,” Rin said looking over at his swimming rival. A pout formed on your face since you did not like the fact that they were treating you like a child. Before you could speak up and voice your discontent, Haru did it for you.

“You two should stop treating (Name) like she is a child. She is the same age as both of you,” Haru said with a firm voice as he looked at Rin and Sousuke. When he was done, he turned his attention towards you. “You should probably go upstairs and rinse your feet off,” Haru said in a soft tone. He figured that you probably had sand on your legs from the beach, but also he wanted to talk to Sousuke and Rin alone.

“I guess you are right. I will go do that and change into some new clothes. Afterwards, we can go get something to eat for dinner, Rin and Sousuke,” you said before waving good-bye to Haru and heading to the elevator. Truthfully, you wanted some more time alone to figure things out. However, after seeing that Rin and Sousuke had already formed a search party to look for you, you knew that neither one of them were going to let you be alone. You just prayed that during dinner Rin and Sousuke did not bring up the whole ‘pick one of us to date’ subject. You did not want to have an emotional breakdown in a restaurant.

~With the boys~

Rin and Sousuke were about to follow you back up to your room when Haru grabbed both their shoulders. “You two need to stop pressuring her,” he said to gain their attention. Rin and Sousuke exchanged a look with each other before looking at Haru. “We are not pressuring her,” Sousuke said quickly to defend himself. “Then why were you forcing her to make a decision earlier between the two of you,” Haru said so they were aware that you had talked to him about what was going on. “Why are you trying to get involved, Haru? This does not even concern you,” Rin said with a slightly angry voice.  He thought that it was odd for Haru to focus on other people’s affairs.

“It does concern me if your actions are stressing (Name) out. She does not want to ruin her friendship with you guys. (Name) is worried that if she choices one of you then the other one will disappear from her life. You don’t understand how much she treasures your guys’ friendship. She still is struggling to figure out her true feelings for both of you,” Haru said knowing that this was probably something neither one wanted to hear, but it was the truth.

“Why did she tell you this and not us?” Sousuke asked slightly hurt that you confided in Haru. You used to only share your problems with Rin and him. When did you start talking to other people like Haru? “Maybe, it is because I have been the one constant in her life since she moved here. You both left her for a while. (Name) understood why you went to Australia, Rin, and why you went to Tokyo, Sousuke. However, she was not the same person after you left. I know she wrote to you and video chatted, but your absences affected her a lot. Makoto and I were there when she needed someone to talk to, but it wasn’t the same,” Haru said. He wanted to say more, but his phone started to go off.  Haru took his phone out of his pocket and saw it was Makoto calling him. He figured his best friend was wondering where he was.

“I need to go, but just remember that (Name) is not quick with love. The only person who is going to steal her away from you two is someone she is comfortable with. So just be patient and give her time to figure things out. Otherwise, she will push you away and I won’t hesitate to take her from you two,” Haru said in a serious tone before leaving the hotel. He hoped his words opened Rin’s and Sousuke’s eyes on how they were treating you. Haru did not care who you picked in the end as long as you were happy.

~Back With You~

After washing off your feet and changing into some new clothes, you heard a knock on the door. You walked over and opened the door thinking that it was going to be Rin and Sousuke, but to your surprise it was not. “(Name)-senpai could we talk with you for a moment?” Nitori asked in his usual timid voice as he stood next to Momotaru. “Sure,” you said as you moved out of the way to let the two younger boys into your hotel room.

“What do you want to talk about?” you asked as you grabbed your hairbrush so you could finish styling your hair. “Well if you feel comfortable in telling. We understand if you can’t, because it is rather personal-“ Nitori started trying to be polite. However, Momotaru could not wait any longer for the grey haired boy to finish talking. “We want to know what you, Rin, and Sousuke were talking about this morning. They both were very distracted during practice today,” Momotaru said not caring that he was interrupting Nitori.

“Distracted how?” you asked out of curiosity. “Both clocked in their slowest times for the year today. Neither one seemed to want to be there, which was odd. Plus they kept messing up the exchange for the relay,” Nitori said answering your question. A look of worry appeared on your face as you bit you bottom lip. You did not realize your conversation with Rin and Sousuke would affect their swimming.

“Thank you two for sharing this with me. I’m not allowed to tell you what happen this morning. Unless you want Rin and Sousuke to be mad at you. However, I promise to talk with them and see if I can fix this,” you said as you gave the boys a reassuring smile. You figured you were the only one who could solve this problem. After you were done talking, both the boys told you good-bye before heading back to their own room. When they left, you finished putting your hair up in a high ponytail. You placed flower and seashell hairpiece in your hair to finish it up. That hairpiece was one of the gifts Rin had brought back from Australia for you. The last thing you did put on teal studded earrings that Sousuke had brought you. As you looked yourself over one last time, you let out a sigh before grabbing your purse and leaving the room.

When you opened your door, Rin and Sousuke were standing outside ready to knock on it. “Are you guys ready to go?” you asked as you started to close your hotel door. “Yes, but we need to talk first, (Name),” Rin said as he exchanged a look with Sousuke. “We promise it to make it quick,” Sousuke said giving you a warm smile. “Sure as long as you are fast, because I’m starving. I slept through lunch so I haven’t eaten anything since breakfast,” you said as you let the pair into your room before closing the door. You walked over to one of the beds in the room before sitting down so you could hear what the two boys had to say to you.

“After talking with Haru, Rin and I have decided something,” Sousuke said starting off the conversation. “We don’t want to put any stress on you, (Name), because we both care about you a lot,” Rin said as he moved to sit down next to you on the bed. “However, neither one of us want to go back to being just friends,” Sousuke continued as he sat down next to you on the other side. Your heart was pounding against your chest as your mind did it’s best to process what was going on. “We both want to be your boyfriend until you can decide which one you want to be with. Sousuke and I both discuss this and both agreed that this is our best option for everyone to be happy,” Rin said explain their proposal to you.

“I’m…I’m… I don’t want you two to be fighting over me nor do I want to stop being friends,” you stated not wanting to get in between their friendship. “We know that. That is why we both agreed to not be jealous or to fight with the other one. Everything will be kept fair,” Sousuke said as he cupped your face and turned your head towards him. He leaned down and captured your lips in a sweet gentle kiss. Your eyes widened feeling your childhood friend kissing you. Your heart was all a fluttered. When Sousuke removed his lips, you did not have a chance to do anything before Rin kissed you as well. Rin was a little more forceful with his kiss, but it still caused the same warm feelings as Sousuke’s kiss did.

“Do you want to be our girlfriend, (Name)? This way you don’t have to choose right away,” Rin said asking the question again. Your head was just spinning from what happened in the last couple of minutes. However, you managed to give the boys an answer. “Y-ye-yes,” you said as you stuttered with your answer. Little did you know this was the beginning of a complicated mess.

(I hope you guys are enjoying the story so far! Just so you know, there will be at least two or more flashback scenes. I want to explain what happened when Sousuke went to a different Middle School to the reader and when Rin left for Australia. P.S. There are many more twists and turns coming up even though you agreed to be both their girlfriend so don’t worry!)
